Teacher 2.0: Emerging Technologies
Technology Integration and Literacy, Professional Development, Paradise Valley Unified School District #69
Welcome to the Teacher 2.0 class wiki
Course Summary
Calling all adventurous teachers who are willing to explore the dynamically changing Read/Write Web 2.0 world! Just like the new Internet networking and communication tools of wikis, blogs, social networks, Google Earth, and more…, this class itself will be designed differently, involving participants to be learners and producers of technology, committing to exploring and sharing their newfound knowledge to their group, and the whole class!
It is our goal that by the end of this class all participants will have a better understanding of the tools of Web. 2.0 and how one can use them to improve their teaching, and engage and excite their students to want to learn more!
This is a Hybrid class - partially done with face-to-face instruction and collaboration (10 hours) and partially using online resources. Dates and times listed are the required face-to-face classes. An optional open lab will be available on Feb. 19th, for extra help. There is a required project to complete with your students. You and your students will need to have pvlearners accounts and access to the Internet (home or school) to participate in your curriculum designed project. You will choose the Web 2.0 tool you would like to use for your project. You will report to the class about your project.
Advanced level class.
You must already have pvlearners accounts for your students when registering for this class. Ask your principal if you are not sure if your school has them.
Most appropriate for Grades 4 - 12.

Goal of the Class:
Learn the evolving definition of Web 2.0. Create a definition of Teacher 2.0. Explore many applications of Web 2.0 for education. Teach others how to use one of the Web 2.0 applications. Use one of the Web 2.0 tools with your students.
The course will involve very little lecturing facilitated by the instructors. Instead, experiential exercises and skill development assignments will be incorporated.
